WATCH: Zenith powers Jundee Mine’s renewable transition

Zenith Energy has completed a major renewable retrofit at the Jundee Gold Mine.

The hybrid energy system integrates multiple energy sources to maximise renewable penetration and reduce emissions.

The upgraded system now includes:

  • 34.2 megawatts (MW) of gas-fired generation
  • 2 MW of diesel generation
  • 17 MW of solar capacity
  • 24 MW of wind energy from four turbines
  • 12 MW / 12 MWh of battery storage

With renewables set to supply 56 per cent of Jundee’s energy needs, the project marks a significant step toward reducing the mine’s carbon footprint.
