Zenith Energy has completed a major renewable retrofit at the Jundee Gold Mine.
The hybrid energy system integrates multiple energy sources to maximise renewable penetration and reduce emissions.
The upgraded system now includes:
- 34.2 megawatts (MW) of gas-fired generation
- 2 MW of diesel generation
- 17 MW of solar capacity
- 24 MW of wind energy from four turbines
- 12 MW / 12 MWh of battery storage
With renewables set to supply 56 per cent of Jundee’s energy needs, the project marks a significant step toward reducing the mine’s carbon footprint.
