Australia’s largest waste and resource recovery event will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 26-27 October, 2022.
Co-located with All-Energy Australia, Waste Expo Australia will bring together the waste industry for two days of exhibits, presentations and the latest innovations.
Australia is responsible for more than 76 million tonnes of waste each year, making it one of the highest accumulators of rubbish in the developed world.
Waste Expo Australia aims to address this issue by showcasing initiatives and ideas that improve infrastructure, increase recycling rates, tackle food and organic waste, and support better waste management reduction, recycling and reuse solutions.
Returning as an in-person event for the first time since COVID-19 hit, the free-to-attend conference and exhibition will showcase more than 100 exhibitors, making it Australia’s premier gathering of waste management and resource recovery professionals.
The expo will also feature more than 70 industry speakers who will deliver key insights on industry innovation, updates on policy and regulation, and case studies with practical and tangible solutions from industry experts who are shaping the future of waste and recycling in Australia.
Speakers will include Lily D’Ambrosio, Victorian Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, and Minister for Solar Homes; Matt Genever, interim CEO, Sustainability Victoria; Tony Circelli, head, Recycling Victoria; and Lee Miezis, CEO, EPA Victoria.
Legislators, local council representatives and other recycling and waste management experts will also be speaking at the event.
“Waste Expo is all about collaboration, and this year the event will provide an opportunity to bring the industry back together in person,” says Robby Clark, portfolio director for energy and waste at RX Global, which hosts the event.
“The expo is designed to enable attendees to hear about innovative solutions, and how they can transform their operations and gain practical information and insights.
“There is no other event in Australia that gives the opportunity to hear from some of the biggest names in the industry and do business with leading suppliers for free.”
Waste Expo Australia will also be held in partnership with the Waste Innovation & Recycling Awards, which recognises excellence across waste and resource recovery.
Nominations for the awards are now open.
