A new coalition of over 50 organisations, including the Clean Energy Council, is lobbying the Federal Government for a comprehensive plan to make clean energy accessible to all Australians.
The alliance, named Renew Australia for All, is advocating for an ‘Energy Bill Savings Plan’ that would enable every household to reduce energy costs, regardless of their living situation or financial circumstances.
Clean Energy Council acting chief policy and impact officer Con Hristodoulidis said it is important to extend the benefits of Australia’s rooftop solar success to all households and businesses.
“Australian households are leading the rest of the world in adopting and enjoying the immense benefits of rooftop solar, with lower bills and greater peace of mind, thanks in part to the success of several Federal, state and territory incentive programs over the years,” he said.
The alliance’s long-term vision includes a minimum investment of $50 billion over 10 years to repower Australian homes and communities with clean energy solutions.
This initiative aims to address the current disparity in access to energy-saving technologies and ensure that all Australians can benefit from lower energy bills and contribute to the country’s clean energy transition.
