Trina Storage has unveiled its Elementa 2 Pro 5MWh energy storage system at the 2025 Energy Storage Summit in Sydney, marking the system’s first introduction to the Australian market.
As a subsidiary of Trinasolar, a global leader in solar and energy storage solutions, Trina Storage’s launch highlights its commitment to advancing energy storage technology tailored to Australia’s unique conditions.
The Energy Storage Summit, a prominent event in the global energy storage industry, attracted over 250 delegates and industry experts from around the world.
Speaking at the launch, Dr Leo Zhao, Head of Energy Storage at Trinasolar Asia Pacific, said, “The energy storage sector is evolving rapidly, and reliability, safety, and efficiency have never been more critical. With the launch of the Elementa 2 Pro 5MWh, Trina Storage is setting a new benchmark for large-scale battery energy storage solutions in Australia”.
The Elementa 2 Pro builds on the success of its predecessor, Elementa 2, offering a longer lifespan of 15,000 cycles—up from 12,000 cycles—thanks to Trina’s self-developed 314Ah Trina Cell.
Its hybrid air-liquid cooling system maintains an internal temperature difference within 2.5°C while reducing auxiliary power consumption by 30 per cent, ensuring efficient operation even at ambient temperatures of up to 55°C.
Designed to withstand Australia’s harsh maritime climate, the system features C5 corrosion-resistant certification, IP67-rated waterproof and dust-proof battery modules, and a fire mitigation structure that offers up to two hours of fire protection.
The system’s low-noise design, operating at just 70dB, also meets stringent local environmental standards.
In addition to the Elementa 2 Pro’s launch, Trina Storage has partnered with Pacific Green for the 250MW/500MWh Limestone Coast North Energy Park project in South Australia, which aims to support grid stability and renewable energy integration.
With over 10GWh of energy storage systems shipped worldwide, Trina Storage remains committed to delivering sustainable and reliable energy storage solutions that advance the global clean energy transition.
