Trina Storage has been ranked among the Top 10 battery energy storage system (BESS) integrators globally in S&P Global Energy’s 2025 Energy Storage System Integrator Report, placing eighth worldwide. The ranking is based on cumulative installed and contracted capacity worldwide, measured in megawatts (MW), as of 31 July 2025. Trina Storage also secured a Top 10 position in Australia, reflecting its expanding role in the delivery of utility-scale energy storage across the National Electricity Market (NEM).
The recognition from S&P Global Energy highlights Trina Storage’s ability to execute utility-scale projects reliably across diverse markets, supported by strong system integration capabilities and a robust global project pipeline, underscoring its long-term competitiveness within the global energy storage industry.
Built for global and Australian markets
As a global energy storage system integrator, Trina Storage remains committed to delivering high-value, safe, and reliable energy storage solutions through continuous innovation and global execution. Leveraging Trinasolar’s extensive experience in the photovoltaic sector and its worldwide presence, Trina Storage has established end-to-end integration capabilities, spanning core components, system design, project delivery, and intelligent operation and maintenance.
Through a combination of system engineering expertise and standardised, modular product design, Trina Storage is able to adapt flexibly to varying grid requirements and application scenarios across global markets, including Australia, supporting reliable performance and long-term economic value for utility-scale BESS projects.
Global track record, expanding Australia pipeline
These integrated capabilities have translated into a growing portfolio of landmark projects across Asia-Pacific, Latin America, North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with deployments in complex and challenging environments such as deserts, high-altitude regions, and island grids, while maintaining strong localisation and long-term operational stability.
In Asia-Pacific (excluding China), utility-scale projects under construction have surpassed 2.4 gigawatt-hour (GWh), spanning key markets such as Australia, Japan, Southeast Asia, and South Asia.
In Australia, Trina Storage is advancing its market presence through utility-scale battery energy storage projects, including its strategic partnership with Pacific Green. Trina Storage and Pacific Green have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to deliver up to 5 GWh of BESS between 2026 and 2028. This is one of the largest energy storage collaborations in Australia to date.
In North America, Trina Storage has expanded its strategic partnership with Lightshift Energy, with both parties committed to jointly delivering over 1 GWh of energy storage projects in the coming years.
In Latin America, the company achieved a milestone with the shipment of a 1.2 GWh single-site energy storage project in Chile, setting a regional benchmark.
In the Middle East and Africa, the Abydos 300 MWh solar-plus-storage project in Egypt, delivered by Trina Storage, was successfully grid-connected in July and stands as one of the largest single-site hybrid projects in Africa.
Global momentum
With its global delivery capabilities continuing to expand, Trina Storage expects its annual shipments to double in 2025, reaching approximately 8 GWh, with shipment targets planned to nearly double again in the following year. In parallel, the company has already secured over 10 GWh of overseas orders, most of which are scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2026.
Supporting this growth is a customer-centric global service framework covering the full project lifecycle. Trina Storage operates an extensive operations and maintenance network across more than 180 countries, supported by over 100 spare parts hubs worldwide, providing lifecycle services from early-stage project support through long-term operation.
“This recognition from S&P Global highlights Trina Storage’s strengths in technology innovation, global delivery, and sustainable development,” said Mr. Yang Bao, President of Energy Storage Division at Trinasolar.
“We will continue to serve diverse market needs worldwide with safer, higher-performance energy storage solutions, supporting the evolution of next-generation power systems and the global energy transition.”
Looking ahead
Being ranked among S&P Global Energy’s Top 10 energy storage system integrators globally, and achieving leading positions across multiple regions including Australia, reflects market confidence in Trina Storage’s system integration expertise and large-scale delivery capability. The company will continue to advance innovation and deepen its presence in key markets, supporting the large-scale deployment of energy storage and the transition toward a more sustainable energy future.
