Stubbo Solar Project Overview
Solarig has commenced operations on the 400 MW (megawatt) / 520 MWp (megawatt peak) Stubbo Solar project – bringing its total portfolio under full operations and maintenance (O&M) in Australia to 2 gross weight (GW).
Developed by ACEN Australia and constructed by experienced PCL Construction, the Stubbo Solar project is expected to generate 1000 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean energy annually – enough to power 185,000 Australian homes. A 200 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery energy storage system will be integrated in a future phase.
Solarig, with over 4.2 GWh O&M Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) global operation provides asset owners and developers with a comprehensive and integrated service package for its stand-alone and co-allocated BESS assets.

Solarig, a global company specialising in renewable energy solutions, has reached 2 GW in O&M)in Australia following the commencement of operations at Stubbo Solar project (400 MW / 520 MWp), one of the country’s most significant photovoltaic assets with an estimated investment of AUD $760 million. This milestone reinforces Solarig’s international leadership in O&M services – where it already ranks as the fourth-largest operator worldwide – and consolidates its position as a leading energy partner in Australia, a market where it has operated for the past eight years.
Located in the Central West-Orana region of New South Wales, the Stubbo Solar project will generate around 1,000 GWh of clean energy per year, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 185,000 Australian households. The project, owned by ACEN Australia and built by PCL Construction, will also incorporate a BESS with a 200 MWh capacity in the future. Stubbo Solar is a strategic asset for the country’s energy transition, and its future storage system will be essential in providing stability and resilience to the Australian energy mix – one of the world’s electricity grids with the highest renewable penetration.
In addition, Stubbo has become the first large-scale solar project in Australia certified for full circularity under the Circular PV Alliance (CPVA) framework. This certification ensures that all 930,000 photovoltaic panels used in the facility will be reused or recycled at the end of their operational life, setting a precedent for responsible lifecycle management and advancing Australia’s broader commitment to the circular economy.
Leading renewable asset management in Australia
Now, with 2 GW under management, Solarig Australia reaffirms its leadership as the country’s largest O&M operator by installed capacity, consolidating its strategic role in operating large-scale renewable energy assets. The company currently operates and maintains facilities across five states – South Australia, Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland. In addition to Stubbo Solar, Solarig manages other benchmark projects such as Bungala Solar Farm (275 MWp) and Darlington Point (333 MWp), which are among the largest solar farms in the country. Altogether, the assets under Solarig’s management deliver emission-free electricity equivalent to the consumption of around 700,000 Australian homes.
