Solar distribution in the spotlight

Solar distributor, Supply Partners, has been named Fronius Sales Partner of the Year 2025, spotlighting the growing importance of strong distribution networks to support Australia’s energy transition.

The Australian-owned distributor works with a diversified portfolio of manufacturers and provides local technical support, training and service through its related business, New Energy Training.

The Sales Partner of the Year award, presented by Fronius Australia, recognises the top-performing distributor nationally across a broad set of performance metrics, including revenue growth, market share, customer acquisition, installer engagement, and product development.

The award comes at a time when the nation’s solar sector is undergoing a structural shift. With rooftop solar now installed on more than four million homes and battery uptake accelerating, the industry is moving beyond volume alone to system performance, grid integration, product reliability and long-term serviceability.

In that environment, distributors are playing a critical role – not just moving hardware, but supporting installers with product selection, training, technical expertise and after-sales support.

Fronius Australia said Supply Partners achieved the highest national score in its 2025 partner assessment, driven by strong results against revenue targets, high levels of customer acquisition and retention, and consistent engagement with installers through training and events.

Patrick Morrissey, Chief Executive Officer at Supply Partners, shared that the award reflects the company’s long-term approach to supporting the trade.

“This recognition from Fronius means a lot to our team. It speaks to the strength of the partnership and to the work we do every day to deliver real value to our customers,” he said.

“We’re passionate about helping installers succeed – not just by supplying quality products, but by backing them with support, training and technical expertise in a market that’s becoming more complex every year.”

Dougal Gillman, Distribution Manager at Fronius Australia, shared that strong distributor partnerships are becoming more important as the solar and storage sector matures.

“Our partnerships with high-quality distributors like Supply Partners are vital to the continued success of Fronius in Australia,” he said.

“Their technical capability, customer relationships and commitment to the industry help ensure our products end up in the right hands – and that installers and end customers are properly supported in a fast-growing and increasingly sophisticated market.”

Australia’s distributed energy landscape is being reshaped by rising battery installations, growing concerns about system quality, and increasing expectations around grid support, export control and long-term asset performance. As a result, manufacturers and installers alike are placing greater weight on trusted supply chains, local support and proven technology partners.

Supply Partners sees the award as a reflection of its broader focus on being a long-term partner to the Australian solar industry, rather than simply a product wholesaler.
