Blue Connections IT, a leading Australian IT solutions provider, has reached carbon neutrality for the second year in a row with the help of Schneider, marking a significant step in its sustainability journey.
The company’s six-star energy-efficient headquarters, equipped with solar panels, energy-saving lighting, and a solar-powered heating and cooling system, has been central to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 17.1 per cent. The company is on track to achieve a 20 per cent reduction by 2024.
This achievement underscores Blue Connections IT’s commitment to sustainable business practices, supported by Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation.
Schneider Electric has provided the technology solutions necessary to cut emissions and reduce energy consumption across Blue Connections IT’s operations.
“We are proud to partner with Blue Connections IT and celebrate this impressive milestone. The company is setting a powerful example of how businesses can take proactive steps towards sustainability,” Farokh Ghadially, Vice President of Secure Power from Schneider Electric said.
As climate reporting requirements tighten, many businesses are grappling with how to address their Scope 3 emissions—those generated along their value chain. Recent data from Schneider Electric’s “Sustainability Index, 2024” report indicates that although 70 per cent of Australian corporate leaders are aware of their emissions obligations, only 10 per cent have a solid strategy for Scope 3.
With the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) set to mandate new climate disclosures in 2025, Blue Connections IT’s proactive approach places it at the forefront of Australian companies aligning with net-zero targets.
