Stanwell Asset Maintenance Company, a newly launched subsidiary of Stanwell Corporation, has signed its first solar generation maintenance contract.
This five-year operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement with RATCH Australia Corporation (RAC) for the Collinsville Solar Farm marks a significant milestone for Stanwell Asset Maintenance Company (SAMCo), which began operations in November 2023.
Michael O’Rourke, CEO Stanwell said partnering with renewable energy companies like RATCH-Australia is critical to building Stanwell’s renewable energy service capabilities.
“Stanwell has one of the most reliable and safest generation portfolios in the country and our highly skilled workforce is looking forward to using our proven systems and skills to support SAMCo in delivering world-class asset maintenance services to our partners and our own growing portfolio of renewable energy projects,” he said.
Under the contract, SAMCo will provide comprehensive O&M services, including electricity operations, scheduled inspections, maintenance and repairs of panels, inverters, and high voltage systems.
Additionally, SAMCo will perform routine cleaning of the solar panels, grass and weed control, and maintenance of the fire break around the facility. This contract will create two permanent roles at the site and offer renewable energy work experience opportunities through Stanwell’s Development Pathways Program, as well as subcontracting opportunities for local small businesses.
Sahachthorn Putthong, CEO RATCH-Australia Corporation said the company is pleased to work with SAMCo.
“Stanwell has a strong track record in reliably and safely maintaining energy generation assets in Queensland, and it’s that track record that cemented SAMCo as our preferred partner for our Collinsville Solar Farm,” Putthong said.
According to SAMCo, it aims to leverage Stanwell’s experienced workforce and reputation as a reliable and safe operator in the National Electricity Market to optimise the performance of its clients’ renewable energy assets.
