The Clean Energy Council has announced that the Careers for Net Zero Roadshow will visit three regional Queensland cities this August.
The roadshow, scheduled for Toowoomba, Gladstone, and Townsville, will offer valuable insights into the growing clean energy sector.
The events aim to showcase the numerous career and training opportunities emerging in Australia’s transition to a net-zero economy.
The roadshow, organised by the Clean Energy Council and Energy Efficiency Council with support from the Queensland Government, will provide attendees with information on careers in renewable energy, critical minerals, and green manufacturing.
Participants will also have the chance to network directly with local employers.
Clean Energy Council Chief Executive Kane Thornton said regional Queensland is essential for Australia’s journey to net-zero.
“The Careers for Net Zero QLD Roadshow will provide the next generation of leaders within the clean economy with the skills and knowledge to thrive in an exciting new era,” he said.
The free events will feature:
- Local industry presentations on clean economy projects and career opportunities
- Networking sessions with representatives from leading employers such as Acciona Energy, CS Energy, Stanwell, Powerlink QLD, Akaysha Energy, Energy Queensland, Genex Power, Squadron Energy, GHD, CPB Contractors, Symal Infrastructure
- Information on career pathways, training, and scholarship programs
- Addresses from government and industry leaders on regional Queensland’s future in the clean economy
The roadshow dates are:
Toowoomba: Tuesday, August 6, 2024
Gladstone: Friday, August 9, 2024
Townsville: Wednesday, August 14, 2024
