Tilt Renewables has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with AGL, marking a significant milestone in the delivery of the Palmer Wind Farm in South Australia.

The Palmer Wind Farm, to be situated 70 kilometres east of Adelaide, will have a generation capacity of up to 288 megawatts (MW). This will deliver enough power to satisfy the electricity needs of about 142,000 homes with zero emissions electricity.

Under the 15-year PPA, 45 per cent of the generation output of the Palmer Wind Farm will be sold to AGL at a fixed price.

Works on the project are expected to generate more than 200 new jobs, as well as over $7 million in community benefit funding throughout the life of the project.

Tilt Renewables is currently working through secondary approvals, as well as the finalisation of construction contracts.

A final investment decision on the project is expected in the coming months, targeting commercial operation by December 2028.

Anthony Fowler, Tilt Renewables CEO, stated that the PPA ensures revenue certainty to support investment in the Project and clearly demonstrates the robust demand for renewable energy, which is essential for the energy transition.

“It’s a big win for South Australia and a significant milestone for Tilt Renewables,” Fowler said.
