Australian climate tech platform Acacia is helping consumers choose a solar installer by launching a first-in-market solar finder that allows users to get personalised quotes for solar installation, and connect with high-quality installers.
Launching on 1 February, 2023, in NSW, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia, the solar finder features pricing, energy savings and simplified information on the benefits of moving to solar.
Acacia’s current platform uses smart algorithms to automatically identify and connect consumers with better performing savings, home loans, superannuation and energy options based on financial and environmental factors.
The new solar feature works alongside Acacia’s energy offering, which utilises data from the Greenpeace Green Energy Guide to help users independently compare their current energy plan with other electricity providers.
With the Acacia app, users can upload their energy bill to receive a personalised digital quote in less than three minutes, as well as estimated savings and a view of a solar panel layout on their roof. Consumers can also use the app to connect with a curated list of local solar installers, although the platform is not affiliated with any particular providers.
“Australians have a clear desire to embrace solar technology to reduce their energy costs and greenhouse emissions, but finding the right solar solution can be a complicated task and the buyer experience is often poor,” says Anil Sagaram, Acacia founder and CEO (pictured above).
“Acacia’s platform has been built on the concept of putting power and information around your finances and carbon impact back into the hands of consumers.
“The previous process was heavily sales driven with far too much friction. One of the biggest challenges in getting solar is having to dodge calls from multiple salespeople, and not knowing who to trust.
“Australian’s want to embrace solar, and now with Acacia they have a digital experience that allows them to take the first step without the pressure of dealing with the worst parts of the process.”
