LONGi tops solar rankings with 18-quarter AAA streak

One of the leading solar manufacturers LONGi, has once again secured the highest AAA rating in the Q2 2024 PV ModuleTech Bankability Ratings report from PV-Tech.

This marks an impressive 18 straight quarters that LONGi has achieved this top bankability ranking.

The PV ModuleTech ratings evaluate solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturers on criteria like value chain strength, production capacity, global shipments, capital expenditure, R&D investment, cash flow, profitability and revenue. ‘

According to the company, its sustained AAA status demonstrates its consistently strong performance across these key metrics, solidifying its position as a trusted leader in the solar industry.

LONGi continues investing heavily in research and development to drive innovation and enhance the efficiency and reliability of its solar products for global energy markets.

Recent months have seen the company launch major new technologies such as the TaiRay silicon wafer, HPBC 2.0 cell, Hi-MO 9 module and Hi-MO X6 Max module.

These releases highlight LONGi’s expertise in silicon wafer and back contact (BC) cell technology, an area where the company continues advancing its BC technology path to meet evolving market needs with swift new product rollouts.

On the efficiency front, LONGi set several new world records in the first half of 2024. In May, its silicon heterojunction back-contact (HBC) cells achieved a certified 27.30 per cent efficiency.

June saw a 30.1 per cent efficiency record for commercial M6 wafer-level silicon-perovskite tandem cells. At SNEC 2024, LONGi announced a new 34.6 per cent tandem cell efficiency record.

According to LONGi, these milestones demonstrate its industry-leading position in pushing the limits of highly efficient tandem solar cell prototypes toward commercial viability.
