Global energy storage powerhouse HyperStrong has marked a significant leap in its European expansion, commissioning two major energy storage projects in Sweden and Germany.
The twin milestones again highlighted the company’s growing presence in the region, and reinforce its commitment to accelerating Europe’s energy transition through advanced storage technologies.
Breaking ground in the Nordic market
In May 2024, HyperStrong launched its first Swedish project—a grid-side frequency regulation energy storage system based in Stockholm.
Despite the logistical challenge of aligning multiple stakeholders, the company executed the project efficiently.
Hyperstrong designed a streamlined communication platform specifically for the project, which is aided with clearly defined roles.
The system was formally accepted in March 2025.
The project represents more than just a foothold in Sweden; it sets the stage for long-term collaboration. Additional orders from the client are already underway, pointing to HyperStrong’s growing momentum in the Nordic market.
Strengthening ties in Germany
The company’s European push also gained traction in central Germany, where HyperStrong signed a supply contract in May 2024 for the Waltershausen energy storage power station.
The project delivery was complete by December, and the plant was connected to the grid by March 2025.
Powered by HyperStrong’s flagship utility-scale system, the station plays a dual role — supporting electricity trading and improving grid flexibility.
The project has become a showcase of HyperStrong’s capabilities in Germany and a springboard for future large-scale deployments.
Streamlining success with integrated solutions
Both projects were delivered using HyperStrong’s integrated “DC + AC” system solution, with the company also leading the joint commissioning efforts.
“Our one-stop solution saves the need for our clients to coordinate with multiple parties, significantly simplifying processes and improving execution efficiency,” Jianfeng Xu, Senior Vice President of Engineering, EMEA Region at HyperStrong said.
With both the Stockholm and Waltershausen projects now operational, HyperStrong has firmly established its presence in two key European markets.
As it continues to grow across the continent, the company remains focused on driving energy transformation through innovation, efficient delivery, and strong local partnerships.
