ENGIE North America has detailed how one of the leading construction management softwares, Procore, is supporting the company’s growth and operations.
Part of the ENGIE Group – a global leader in low-carbon energy and services with 96,000 employees and 170 years of heritage – ENGIE North America has over 4500 employees.
Chief information and digital officer Dulce Borjas featured on a panel discussion exploring how their companies, some with 100,000s of employees and multiple concurrent projects all use Procore to streamline their operations.
She said Procore’s centralised platform made it easier to collaborate on the same information.
“For me, I think it’s showing the value of having the data and making it easier to collaborate,” Borjas said.
“I think having data and information at your fingertips has only shown how important it is when you’re collaborating from the same platform and everyone’s looking at the same information that enables it.
“I think showing the value that the platform brings, being able to demonstrate whether they may be getting paid more quickly or more efficiently and not just pushing information from subcontractors is one of the most important elements.”
Adding layers of technology often brings challenges, particularly in construction where change isn’t always welcomed.
Borjas said demonstrating the value of a platform like Procore can go a long way toward getting subcontractors onboard, but there’s still the uphill battle against traditional ways of thinking about the job.
“When subcontractors use the platform it works out well, but we actually still struggle with subs that actually flat-out refuse to write,” she said.
“They’re still stuck in the analog world. They don’t know how to make that migration to the digital space.
“So there’s a lot of resistance there and we sometimes have to drag them along. Which, unfortunately, creates inefficiencies that require extra oversight on our part.”
Founded in 2002, Procore is one of the world’s leading construction management software platforms.
Used in over 150 countries, Procore provides customers with the tools they need to grow businesses and protect their people.
In collaboration with the Property Council of Australia, the company recently launched a survey to generate conversations and spur investment in Australia’s renewable energy future.
Click here to contribute to the survey and have a chance to win a $500 gift card.
According to Procore, the feedback from the survey is crucial to the collective mission to reduce carbon emissions, achieve Net Zero goals, and optimise renewable energy opportunities in Australia and beyond.
Survey participants will also go in the running to be one of five lucky winners to receive a $500 Visa gift card.
