DT Infrastructure (DTI), part of the TasVic Greenlink joint venture with Samsung C&T Corporation, has been shortlisted for the final major tender of Marinus Link’s Stage 1 Balance of Works package.
The project, which involves constructing an undersea and underground electricity and telecommunications inter-connector between Tasmania and Victoria, aims to enhance bidirectional electricity flow within the National Electricity Market, providing reliable and clean energy solutions.
“We’re proud to be doing our part to support Australia’s energy transition goals through our involvement in projects such as Marinus Link,” DTI said.
The Balance of Works package encompasses several key components, including onshore civil and installation works, converter station building construction, and land cable civil works.
Local businesses in both Victoria and Tasmania are invited to register their interest through the Industry Capability Network, with meet-the-proponent events planned in both states.
The Marinus Link is a transformative undersea and underground electricity and data interconnector that will link North West Tasmania with Victoria’s Latrobe Valley.
By enabling bidirectional energy flow, it will allow Tasmania to export its green hydropower to the mainland and import surplus solar energy from Victoria, providing a significant boost to the National Electricity Market.
