Neoen Australia’s Collie Battery Two project has begun operations ahead of schedule, marking the final of many milestones for the project.
Collie Battery now offers a total storage capacity of 560 MW / 2,240 MWh from Tesla Megapacks, to support Western Australia’s transition to a cleaner energy future.
Stage One, sized at 219 MW / 877 MWh, was constructed in less than 16 months and has been operating since October 2024.
Stage Two, sized at 341 MW / 1,363 MWh, was constructed in less than 15 months and has been operating since July 2025.
Collie Battery can provide short-term storage in peak times to ease pressure on the grid. It can charge and discharge 20 per cent of the average demand in Western Australia’s South-West Interconnected System.
UGL was responsible for the design, procurement and construction of the access works for both Stage One and Stage Two of the project.
