CEC calls for director nominations

director nominations

The Clean Energy Council (CEC), Australia’s peak body for the clean energy industry, has issued a call for its director nominations ahead of the organisation’s 2024 Annual General Meeting.

Five vacancies need to be filled through election at the upcoming AGM on 26 November 2024. The terms of three elected directors are expiring, while another director’s position is vacant due to a resignation. An additional casual vacancy also requires filling.

The three nominees receiving the highest number of votes will serve three-year terms on the board, while the fourth and fifth highest vote recipients will serve one-year terms.

In its call for nominations, the CEC welcomed a diverse range of perspectives on the board.

The organisation encourages candidates from varied backgrounds in terms of gender, geographic location, technology specialisation, experience and skill sets, company scale for members behind-the-meter or utility operations, and size of the business they work for.

As per the CEC’s constitution, the board can have up to nine elected directors who must either be a member of the council or an employee of a member company.

Nomination submissions must include a completed form, a 100-word biographical summary highlighting relevant governance experience, and another 100-word statement explaining the candidate’s motivations and potential contributions to the board. Nominations close at 5pm AEDT 25 October 2024.
