Atmos Renewables and Nomad Energy have joined forces for renewable energy projects in Western Australia.
With a focus on wind, BESS (battery energy storage system), and solar/BESS hybrid, these initiatives will support the state’s decarbonisation goals and energy requirements.
Nomad Energy, with a portfolio exceeding 1GW of planned SWIS-connected generation capacity by 2030, accelerates its utility-scale renewable projects through this strategic collaboration with Atmos.
Atmos Renewables owns and operates 15 large-scale plants, generating 2.5 TWh of electricity across all regions of the National Electricity Market (NEM).
Nomad Energy developed Western Australia’s largest solar asset, Merredin Solar Farm.
“It’s fantastic to be partnering with Atmos on our WA portfolio. There are great synergies between the teams and our shared passion for delivering market leading renewable energy assets forms the basis of what will be an exciting and successful partnership,” founder and Managing Director Guy Beesley said.
Nigel Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Atmos, said the partnership with Nomad marks an exciting step in the company’s strategy to further grow its portfolio of Australian renewable energy assets.
“Atmos is committed to playing a significant role in enabling Australia’s energy transition and Western Australia is an important part of that transition,” he said.
“The partnership with Nomad is Atmos’ first investment in renewable energy in WA and provides a compelling opportunity to grow the company’s renewable energy investments in that state. ”
“Nomad brings to the partnership a wealth of local and international renewables development experience, along with a quality portfolio of early-to-mid stage development projects, and is a great fit as a partner for Atmos to take those projects forward.”
