Anker SOLIX’s unique partnership with installer RESINC Solar & Batteries is aiming to safeguard the energy security of critical community hubs across Australia.
The two companies recently came together to support an animal shelter, located in Lismore, NSW, with the complimentary installation of an X1 system.
The shelter, which is run by volunteers and funded by donations, was recently affected by a power outage during a heatwave which resulted in spoiled food and shutdown air conditioning, leaving animals and volunteers in dangerous conditions.
After the installation of the X1 battery system, the shelter now runs on 99 per cent solar energy, delivering much needed energy security.
“When the grid drops out now, nobody even notices,” said a representative of the animal shelter.
“The food stays frozen, the air con keeps running and the animals stay comfortable.”
The X1 is rated to IP66 and is designed for the harsh Australian climate, handling temperatures from -20°C to 55°C.
In addition, the battery carries a C5-M anti-corrosion rating, and in the event of a power outage can switch to the backup battery in 10 milliseconds.
The operation of the battery is also backed by a 10-year warranty and is supported by Anker SOLIX’ support service and installer network across Australia.
The company chooses to work exclusively with Australia’s premium installers, including RESINC.

He said the animal shelter installation saw the company back their product in a situation where failure carried real consequences.
