AIKO, a global leader in solar technology, has celebrated its 15th anniversary of groundbreaking research and development in photovoltaic (PV) technology, marking the milestone at All Energy Australia 2024.
Over the past 15 years, AIKO has redefined industry standards, driving the global photovoltaic sector from the P-type to the N-type era.
With more than 1000 granted patents, AIKO’s innovations—such as tubular double-sided PERC technology and 210mm cells—have become essential components in many of the world’s leading module brands.
Notably, AIKO’s ABC module has consistently led the industry with a mass production efficiency of 24.2 per cent, securing the top spot in TaiyangNews’ global commercial module efficiency rankings for 20 consecutive months.
Joining All Energy 2024, AIKO unveiled the NEOSTAR 475W, surpassing its previous record of 470W to claim the title of the most efficient 54-cell residential solar panel in Australia.
Designed to deliver maximum energy output while occupying less than 2m² of roof space, this panel enables homeowners to generate more power within the same area.
Fewer panels mean significant savings on BOS (balance of systеm) and labor costs, maximising investment returns and facilitating broader solar adoption across the country.
Additionally, AIKO provided an exclusive preview of the INFINITE series, featuring world-record efficiencies exceeding 25 per cent.
This cutting-edge product combines AIKO’s unique 0BB technology, overlap welding, and hidden busbar design, key attractions at the exhibition that drew considerable attention for their revolutionary design and performance capabilities.
Thomas Bywater, Country Director of AIKO ANZ, highlighted the company’s mission.
“As we celebrate our 15-year journey in solar innovation, our focus remains steadfast on providing cutting-edge solutions that not only meet the demands of today’s market but also anticipate the needs of tomorrow,” he said.
The NEOSTAR 475W and Infinite Modules are prime examples of our commitment to enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability for Australian consumers.”
Extreme performance, proven through live testing
Since its debut at the Smart Energy Expo, AIKO’s Partial Shading Test has quickly become a crowd favourite in Australia.
With common shading issues in Australia like leaves, bird droppings, and trees affecting many rooftops, the test clearly shows how AIKO’s N-type ABC modules maintain superior efficiency compared to TOPCon, offering better performance in challenging settings.
New to this year’s exhibition, AIKO also showcased the Impact Resistance Comparison between its ABC Module and traditional TOPCon Cells. In a controlled experiment, a 2kg weight was dropped at 1.1m/s onto both module types.
While the TOPCon cells suffered significant damage, AIKO’s ABC module showed only a small hole at the impact point, with notably less fragmentation.
This superior durability, attributed to the module’s silver-free metallisation coating process and robust copper grid wire, impressed the audience, reinforcing the toughness and reliability of AIKO’s solar solutions.
Exclusive VIP lunch with Omnidian: Creating premium value beyond
In addition to showcasing its latest technological advancements, AIKO co-hosted an exclusive VIP Lunch with Omnidian, a leader in post-installation service for retailers and OEMs, during All Energy 2024.
This event, held on October 24 at The General Assembly in Melbourne, brought together OEMs, commercial and industrial (C&I) businesses, and industry consultants and leaders.
The lunch focused on the theme of elevating solar standards for sustainable growth. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about AIKO’s advanced technologies, like the ABC module, and how Omnidian’s proactive monitoring of systеms can differentiate solar retailers and OEMs in a competitive market, ensuring greater reliability and performance for customers.
This collaboration underscores AIKO’s dedication to building a premium solar community focused on value-driven innovation over price competition, aligning with businesses that prioritise excellence in product performance, efficiency, and service. Ultimately, this approach benefits customers and fosters sustainable growth across the industry.
The VIP Lunch underscored AIKO’s growing influence in the Australian market, as the company continues to lead in both innovation and customer engagement and setting a new standard for the evolution of solar technology.
