Global Switch, a data centre provider in Europe and Asia Pacific, is to build a $300 million data centre in Sydney with an onsite trigeneration system.
The trigeneration system will be powered by a natural gas-fired energy plant and will provide an average of 1,500 watts per square metre (m²), as well as power for cooling and ancillary systems.
The 34,000 m² data centre will be adjacent to Global Switch's existing 42,000 m² data centre in Sydney.
Construction of the building is planned to commence in mid-2011.
