The discussion paper puts forward proposed implementation arrangements for the 'enhanced' Renewable Energy Target that was announced on 26 February 2010.

The proposed legislation would see the existing scheme separated into two parts from January 2011 – the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) and the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET).

Ms Wong said that the discussion paper will give stakeholders the opportunity to put forward their views on implementation aspects of the scheme.

“We look forward to working with industry to implement the changes and invite all interested stakeholders to make a submission,” said Ms Wong.
