A discussion paper on the proposed changes to the Renewable Energy Target has been released by the Federal Minister for Climate Change, Energy Efficiency and Water Senator Penny Wong.
The proposed legislation would see the existing scheme separated into two parts from January 2011 – the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) and the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET).
Ms Wong said that the discussion paper will give stakeholders the opportunity to put forward their views on implementation aspects of the scheme.
“We look forward to working with industry to implement the changes and invite all interested stakeholders to make a submission,” said Ms Wong.
