SUNCLIX is the first photovoltaic (PV) plug connector that can be assembled in the field without the need for any special tools. The connector is compatible with surge protection sets from Phoenix Contact and comes standard on the Sunny Tripower inverters from SMA Solar Technology.

As easy as 1,2,3

The SUNCLIX connector is assembled in three easy steps:

  • Insert the stripped PV conductor
  • With your thumb, simply press down on the spring lever until the conductor latches into place
  • Tighten screw connection– and you’re done!
In addition to facilitating fast and easy connections, the spring clamp technology deployed in SUNCLIX offers additional advantages. All of the usual solar cables with cross sections from 2.5 square millimetres (mm²) to 6 mm² can be connected using one and the same plug connection. This eliminates the two plug connection systems commonly found in the market.

The SUNCLIX plug connector system fulfils all important standards including the ability to conduct continuous currents of 40 amperes and a rated voltage of 1,100 volts. Additionally, the plastics that are used in the production of SUNCLIX fulfil the specific requirements of PV applications: long-term UV stability as well as high combustibility values and high temperature resilience. The silver-plated contacts with the additional steel upper spring ensure consistent transition resistances over a long period of time. Further, the steel upper spring permits contacts to be established that have a high resistance to vibration. As a consequence, the plug connectors can be easily used even under adverse weather conditions.
