In a partnership between TAFE New England Institute, Energy Conservation Systems and the New South Wales Department of Environment and Climate Change, the $357,000 project aims to help the TAFE reduce its electricity usage by 200,000 kWh per year, which is equivalent to the average amount of electricity consumed by 31 homes in a year.

TAFE New England Institute Director Paul Callaghan said the project would help the apprentices and students become better skilled to satisfy the demand for electricians with expertise in energy efficiency.
