The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), to be established on 1 July 2012, will be housed within the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism portfolio and will incorporate programs previously administered separately through a range of bodies.

Supported by the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism, and led by a Board of Directors, ARENA will manage $3.2 billion in renewable energy investment to promote the research, development, demonstration, commercialisation and deployment of renewable energy projects to improve the sector’s competitiveness.

The role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be to establish and lead this new organisation. The CEO will be required to bring significant leadership and strategic skills, and senior commercial experience in the funding and/or delivery of renewable energy projects at all stages along the development chain.

The successful candidate will also possess knowledge of the renewable energy sector across a broad spectrum of technologies.

The ARENA Chief Financial Officer’s role will be to establish the financial and administrative operations of the organisation. The successful candidate will be a Chartered Practising Accountant or Chartered Accountant qualified professional with knowledge of the implications managing a Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act body, experienced in a relevant industry sector, and ideally have skills in management of funding contracts.
