This new addition to the SunPower product family will reinforce the company’s position as a world leader in the photovoltaic (PV) industry, designing, manufacturing and delivering the highest efficiency, highest reliability solar panels and systems available today.
The new SPR-350F (3.5 kilowatt (kW)) and SPR-400F (4 kW) inverter series from one of the highest efficiency cell and module manufacturers, SunPower, is in line with the company’s legacy and continues to deliver quality products to partners and end-users alike.
The new SunPower inverters will allow the company's partners to offer a fully-integrated SunPower package to the end-user, further adding value and peace of mind. When an end-user purchases a SPR-350F or SPR-400F inverter with SunPower modules, they can be assured that they have purchased a system which will consistently deliver returns, with guaranteed performance unmatched by conventional technology.
“This way when an end-user purchases a PV system they purchase a SunPower System,” says Bob Blakiston, Managing Director, SunPower Corporation Australia.

SunPower’s commitment to research and development and developing leading solar technology will see the company expand in time, and its product options to introduce other SunPower series inverters that match different end-user needs, placing an emphasis on system integration and simplicity.
Product features
The SPR-350F and SPR-400F inverter series feature a high frequency transformer, which improves conversion efficiency to an impressive 95.7 per cent, and minimises heat stress on the device when combined with the optimal inverter cooling temperature control.
These inverters also have a broad maximum power point operating voltage range which adapts to the least change in weather conditions and optimises module output. This guarantees the best performance from the PV array and the best outcome for the end-user.
A series of power stages ensures that the most power is delivered at any time as the inverter loads are optimised and the operational window guarantees high system ‘up time’.
The inverters are pre-configured for module-positive direct current (DC) earth requirements for ease of installation, they can be reconfigured in the field for use with Serengeti modules, and the added features – such as the insulated DC disconnection switch– assures the inverters can be installed safely.
Following the SunPower tradition, the design is slick and functional. The metal cover is appropriate for indoor and outdoor installation, and drives the integration further with corrosion protection and modular design.
Designed to be used in conjunction with SunPower’s maxeon back contact technology modules, the SPR-350F and SPR-400F inverters lead the way in reliability and full-system integration, capturing more sunlight and delivering consistently higher yields.
A major advantage to the end-user is that SunPower can provide full after-sales technical support for system components, strengthening the customer focus and delivering high customer satisfaction.
“Our ultimate goal is to provide consistently reliable high yielding systems and satisfied customers; we feel it is important as we have seen on many occasions that a satisfied customer often becomes a great ambassador for SunPower products as they have seen the results and experienced the returns,” says Mr Blakiston.
