At the Illawarra Jobs Summit, New South Wales Premier Nathan Rees said the State Government will invest $250,000 to develop green industries and green jobs education and training action.
Within three months funds will be dedicated in order to develop a Green Jobs Action Plan.
In other news, environmental job advertising website NRMjobs.com.au has released Australia's first-ever snapshot of 'green collar' job advertising suggesting that employment in the environment sector is out-performing the rest of the economy, despite a dramatic drop in the first quarter of this year.
While the Australia-wide figure for all job sectors is approximately 45 per cent the figures for green collar job advertising - based on job advertisements published on NRMjobs.com.au - shows only a 28.7 per cent drop.
