Government grants to help industry adapt to climate change
Mon, 19 October 2009
The Federal Government has allocated $3.8 million worth of grants to 12 industry projects as part of the third round of its Re-tooling for Climate Change initiative.
The dollar for dollar program offers grants of between $10,000 and $500,000 as an incentive for small and medium manufacturers to reduce the environmental impact of their production processes.
Acting Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research Craig Emerson said that the scheme helped tackle climate change at the same time as placing manufacturers on a more sustainable footing.
Re-tooling for Climate Change is part of the Federal Government’s Clean Business Australia initiative.
