Goldwind, manufacturers in Permanent Magnet Direct Drive wind turbines, will locate its technology at Mortons Lane Wind Farm in Victoria’s Western District.
The project, which commenced construction in October 2011, will house 13 of Goldwind’s GW82/1500 turbines, which are 82 m in height and have a generating capacity of 1.5 megawatts. It is expected that the Mortons Lane Wind Farm will generate up to 66.7 gigawatt hours of electricity annually.
“Mortons Lane is Goldwind’s first project in Australia. We are looking forward to providing more Australian customers with Goldwind’s grid-friendly Permanent Magnet Direct Drive wind turbines that feature high reliability and power generation efficiency,” said Managing Director of Goldwind Australia, John Titchen.
The Goldwind GW82/1500 turbines have a full power converter that provides continuous, stable performance, allowing it to operate in a variety of network conditions, including the low-capacity networks of Western Victoria.
