Work has recently commenced on Green Power Energy Limited’s geothermal project at Esperance, with Southern Geoscience Consultants (SGC) appointed to source and analyse all existing geotechnical information in the area. Together with Greenpower’s in-house work, this is expected to enable the company to outline the extent of the heat producing granites in the project area.
In this initial phase of work, emphasis will be on evaluation of the magnetic data for assessing the extent of the granites, and using the gravity data to assist with geometry definition of the main granite bodies in the area.
Preliminary qualitative analysis suggests that there is at least one granite body with an area in excess of 600 km square and which has strong thermal potential.
Greenpower Energy is an Australian public listed explorer and developer of greenhouse friendly energy sourced from fossil fuels. It has approximately two million hectares of commercially-attractive tenements in three Australian states.
