EcoGeneration will host the first two one-day events in the Clean Energy Seminar Series to showcase the expertise of carbon pricing and emissions trading experts to clean energy businesses in Melbourne and Sydney. Analysis of the carbon price and the Clean Energy Future Plan will be the focus of the upcoming set of seminars, to be held during February 2012.

2012 will be an exciting year for the Australian clean energy industry, and the EcoGeneration Clean Energy Seminar Series will be held throughout to provide specialist knowledge and exclusive opportunities for attendees, so that they can hone the tools that will grow their businesses.

Presenters Tristan Edis, Research Fellow at the Grattan Institute’s Energy Program, and Megan Edwards, head of the Energy Markets Section of the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, will detail the new financing models that will be available under the Federal Government’s Clean Energy Future Plan.

Other areas of focus will include the best ways to leverage public and private investment in clean energy projects and technologies, and predictions for future interaction between Australian and international carbon markets.

Delegates at the seminars will also hear from Helen Adair and Dr Matthew Bell, both Executive Directors of Climate Change and Sustainability Services at Ernst and Young in Melbourne and Sydney respectively.

They will be joined by presenters Ivor Frischknecht, Investment Director at Starfish Ventures; Wayne Smith, Director of Clean Economy Services; Ken McAlpine, Director of Policy and Government Relations for the Asia- Pacific at Vestas Australia; and Kate Phillips and Ilona Millar, Senior Associates for Environmental Markets at Baker & McKenzie.

The seminars feature morning sessions including industry-specific presentations, and afternoon sessions containing interactive and informative expert panel discussions. The events will be followed by networking drinks, where delegates exchange thoughts and ideas on the topic of the day and ruminate on the new insights gained.
