EcoGen 2011 welcomes energy industry expert Geoff Ward
Mon, 18 July 2011
EcoGen 2011 is pleased to announce that Geoff Ward, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Geodynamics Limited, will address delegates at the clean energy industry’s premier Conference and Exhibition, to be held from 5–7 September at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Mr Ward’s presentation will analyse Australia’s geothermal energy potential through the prism of Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) and Hot Sedimentary Aquifer (HSA) technologies.
Geodynamics is currently working in joint venture with Origin Energy to explore and develop both EGS and HSA resources in the Cooper Basin, South Australia. Project progress, including the joint venture’s efforts to construct and commission a 1 megawatt electrical pilot plant, will be canvassed.
As well as discussing advances in technology, Mr Ward will assess key geothermal development challenges, and review the inclusion of geothermal power in Australia’s domestic energy security.
Prior to his Geodynamics appointment, Mr Ward was Director and partner of Azure Capital, a Perth-based firm offering corporate advisory services to the resources and engineering industries.
Mr Ward has held senior roles with Woodside Petroleum and ExxonMobil, covering business development, mergers and acquisitions, operations, oil and product trading, strategic and organisational development, planning and economics, investor relations and new project development.
