EcoGen 2011 welcomes clean energy expert Wayne Smith

EcoGen 2011 is pleased to announce that Clean Economy Services Director Wayne Smith will address delegates at the clean energy industry’s premier Conference and Exhibition, to be held from 5–7 September at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Mr Smith will assess the carbon pricing debate in relation to the additional incentives that are required to ensure Australia meets its full potential in large-scale renewable energy projects.
Attendees at EcoGen 2011 will learn more about the comprehensive suite of incentives Mr Smith proposes for a hybrid clean energy policy model,including a carbon price, enhanced large-scale renewable energy targets and a portfolio of loan guarantees and other financial incentives.
Mr Smith has previously worked as a consultant to the solar thermal company Ausra, and his clients currently include the Australian Solar Energy Society, the Australian Photovoltaic Association and biofuels company Algae.Tec. As an adviser to two Federal Shadow Environment Ministers, Wayne helped to develop the Australian Labor Party’s climate change and environment policies for the 2007 federal election.
