The EcoGen 2010 conference is set to be the clean energy event of the year, bringing together the highest levels of the clean energy industry, locally and internationally.
The EcoGen 2010 conference will be held from 5-8 September at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, and seeks to tackle the issues facing the clean energy industry and find the solutions.
Barry has 34 years of international experience in energy businesses. Prior to joining the South Australian Government, Barry was Exploration Manager and Chief Geologist for Santos, Chief Geologist for Bridge Oil, and Chief Geologist for KUFPEC, after starting with Phillips Petroleum.
He is a past President of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia, and has served on the Boards of PESA (2001-7), the Australian Geoscience Council (2004-7), and the Federation of Australian Scientific and Technologic Societies (2004-7). In recognition of his work for the betterment of geoscience, Barry received the AAPG’s Distinguished Service Award in April 2008.

He is also a Member of Australia’s Carbon Storage Task Force, is a American Association of Petroleum Geologist’s Asia-Pacific Councillor, and serves on the Boards of the Geothermal Resource Council (USA) and the Australian School of Petroleum (University of Adelaide).
He graduated from the University of New York (Bachelors – Geology, 1975) and the University of Missouri (Masters – Geology, 1977).
