Dr Diesendorf – a senior lecturer and researcher at the University of New South Wales’ Institute of Environmental Studies and one of Australia’s leading thinkers in sustainable energy – will speak about policies and strategies for a clean energy future.

Having collaborated with and consulted for a wide range of organisations including AusAID, Australian Conservation Foundation, Greenpeace Australia Pacific, Sustainable Energy Development Authority of New South Wales, Sustainable Energy Authority of Victoria, World Wide Fund for Nature Australia, and various municipal and local governments in Australia and China, Dr Diesendorf is a highly respected leader in the clean energy industry.

Professor Harries is an internationally renowned expert in renewable energy and energy efficiency, and conducts major social research surveys on energy use, the development of minimum energy performance standards for appliances, and the development and operation of laboratories for testing renewable energy technologies and equipment.

He is Murdoch University’s Director of the Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technologies, and was previously the Executive Director of the Sustainable Energy Development Office in Western Australia. He ran the Office of Energy in Tasmania, where he prepared the State’s gas legislation.

Professor Harries will speak about developments in the renewable energy industry, and promises to deliver a highly engaging presentation.
