The installation of nearly 1,600 solar panels at the $2.7 million Fraser Coast Community Solar Farm in Hervey Bay, Queensland, has commenced.
Each of the 1,584 Suntech mono-crystalline silicon solar panels being installed by Ingenero will have a capacity of 250 W and collectively cover an area approximately 2,600 m2.
The 396 kW solar farm project will generated approximately 639 MW hours of electricity annually, enough to power approximately 100 homes.
Queensland Energy Minister Stephen Robertson said “Solar energy generated will help offset the energy use of Wide Bay Water Corporation’s operations.”
