Bond University jointly won the Sustainability in the Built Environment Award with global engineer and planner Arup who provided input in respect to compliance with Green Star guidelines and global best practice during the design and construction phase.

“It is the first university building in Australia to be accredited with a 6 Star Green design rating by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA),’’ said Bond University Vice Chancellor Professor Robert Stable.

The building has a bio-retention basin, a rooftop solar system, bicycle facilities and a ‘living laboratory’ which allows students, school groups, industry individuals and members of the community to understand the impact of built form on the environment.
