Clean energy association changes

Matthew Warren will retire as Chief Executive of the Clean Energy Council at the end of this year, and Bob Blakiston – Managing Director of SunPower Corporation, Australia – has retired from his position as Managing Director, and also as Chair of the Sustainable Energy Association Board, where he will be replaced by Greg Denton.

Mr Warren will take up a new position as Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Supply Association of Australia, where he replaces Brad Page. Mr Warren’s successor will be decided by the Clean Energy Council board, chaired by Michael Fraser, managing director of AGL Energy.

Sean Webb – Business Manager and Board member of the Western Australian Geothermal Centre of Excellence – was elected as the Vice-Chair of the SEA board. Additionally, Durmus Yildiz, Managing Director at SolarMatrix was also elected to the board.

Re-elected members of the 2011/12 SEA Board include:

Kelli Friar, Manager, Strategy Implementation and Integration at Horizon Power
Peter Ferguson, Oceania Sustainability Tax and Incentives leader and Regional Cleantech leader at Ernst and Young
Glen Head, Director of HAC Consulting
Hon Alannah MacTiernan, former Western Australia Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, and Shadow Minister for Climate Change
Harry Porrins, Principal at Red Cat Marketing.
