Modifications to the PV Edge series include:

  • A manual toggle switch that ensures the inverters upper alternating-current voltages remain within designated upper limits, should Australian energy providers request it
  • A backlit LCD, multifunction energy meter which details the existing alternating-current output in watts – this feature also includes two kilowatt hour meters (one resettable), a power factor meter and voltage and current meter.

“Being Australian, we can rapidly respond as new standards evolve across the industry. We are accessible to entities like Ergon, Energex, Government departments, and others. We quickly incorporate requested compliance-related updates to meet changing technical requirements that foreign manufacturers are slower to adopt, if at all,” says a Latronics spokesperson on the advantages of being able to make modifications to suit local needs.

Being closely involved with the Australian Standards solar sub-committee, Latronics sees trends leaning toward non-polarized direct-current solar isolators becoming externally mounted beside all future grid-connected inverters. For this reason the new PV Edge inverters no longer sport a built-in direct-current breaker.
