The inaugural event will take place from 8-11 November in Surfers Paradise, Queensland.

The Conference is the first international meeting of its kind, and is expecting over 300 national and international delegates, both from the developed and developing worlds.

As the international community struggles to develop policies and frameworks to effectively tackle climate change, a much stronger connection between energy and meteorology will allow the development of forward-looking, cost-effective and sustainable weather and climate risk management strategies for the energy industry.

Key speakers presenting at the Conference include:

  • Dr Pierre Audinet , Clean Energy Program Leader, Energy Sector Management Assistance Program, World Bank
  • Dr Subho Banerjee,  Deputy Secretary, Adaptation, International and Regulatory Group, Australian Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency
  • Dr Peter Coppin , Leader of the Storage for Renewables Stream at the Energy Transformed Flagship, CSIRO Australia.
